On 23 June 2013, Wilhelmshöhe Park was inscribed on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list. As the administrative body in charge of the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe property, Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel is entrusted with the task of preserving the cultural legacy of the Landgraves of Hesse Kassel, which comprises, besides the Bergpark itself, properties such as Wilhelmshöhe Palace with its art collections or Löwenburg Castle, and to shape its present and future.
