Photography/videography for personal purposes
Photography without flash for personal purposes is permitted in the museums and collections of Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel (MHK). Permission to photograph is available at the museums' ticket desks (fee required). In the parks maintained by MHK, photography for personal purposes is permitted free of charge.
Commercial or news photography, videography or audio recording, and the subsequent commercial use of the recorded material, are prohibited unless approved in writing by MHK. Please contact our press department in advance for written permission. Without it, the commercial use of any recording is prohibited, as is the use of additional lighting (including auxiliary flash) or tripods. Your permit can also be used to identify yourself to our staff. Please note that this permission is subject to a charge.
Publication on the Internet
Private photographs and videos can be uploaded on social networks and image-/video-sharing websites (Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Youtube, etc.) for discussion and communication purposes. However, the images or videos cannot be uploaded for the purpose of sale, advertising including self-advertising, or entering a competition, without a separate agreement with Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel having been reached beforehand.
Photographers and videographers please note:
Please make sure that your activities do not inconvenience other visitors. The MHK's park rules apply. Cordoning off areas or parts of a park is not permitted. Plant labels must not be removed.

Use of drones/quadcopters
Aerial photography of the museums, palaces and parks maintained by Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel is illegal without permission. The operation of remote-controlled drones, multicopters or the like for the purpose of photography or videography is prohibited.
This ban may be suspended only in a very few justified cases, and provided the most exacting requirements are met.
The use of drones and similar devices represents an increased hazard to humans and monuments, involves the danger of violating rights (personal rights etc.) and constitutes an interference with cultural and natural monuments.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
All relevant information, press releases and press photos on MHK exhibitions and projects are available from our press department (firstname.lastname@example.org).
