During the summer months, from June to September, the Illuminated Water Features take place every first Saturday in the month. Traditionally organised by Kassel Marketing, they are one of the highlights of the year in Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe.
From the Hercules Monument the water starts on its course, down the centuries-old Cascades towards Devil's Bridge and the Aqueduct. About an hour later the water displays culminate in the rising of the huge fountain in front of Wilhelmshöhe Palace.
More than a hundred additional floodlights will illuminate parts of the park and the water features, and will create a unique and romantic atmosphere enhanced by the Classical music being played. Food and drink will be available in the pavilion tents in front of the Palace.
As usual, visitors can follow the water on its way from the Hercules Monument down into the valley. Please note, however, that in accordance with the MHK's Park Rules and Regulations this will be AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel nor our affiliate Kassel Marketing will accept liability for any accidents or damage. If you would like to follow the course of the water in the dark we strongly recommend wearing STURDY SHOES and bringing a TORCH/FLASHLIGHT. There is no footpath lighting in our historical park.
